Controls include Volume, Mix, Treble, Bass, and Mid. The knobs all have a detent at zero. It helps me start from zero when I play through a different system/amp.

Studio clients enjoy tracking with my Jazz Bass. While recording, I like to use the treble knob to reduce fret noise at the instrument.
This means less EQ adjustments while mixing.

Over the summer I played bass in a Latin Jazz band. The experience got me to focusing on the 4 and the + of 4.
I feel like I have permission to hide the 1. Some times people miss the 1, so I throw it in.
I was practicing playing the 1 in every other measure and every eight measures.
